Hey!
I'm finally back after a pretty insane month and a bit. Hopefully I'll be on here a lot more now that things are slowing down with work and everything else. Sadly I broke my board in warm-ups for the Winsport Canada Cup and with no sponsors my pro longboarding career was posponed a while longer it seems.. But I'll get to the real topic that I'd love to discuss. Occupying places as a protest. I totally agree that the world needs change. But how do a bunch of homeless looking people with obviously no jobs, plan to change the world by camping in the parks? I used to be a pretty big hippie / change the world kind of guy. I loved the idea of everyone being equal and working together for a greater goal. The key word being working. How do you plan to get anything done by just sitting there with no one in charge or any real list of demands? If anything, this is just showing people that we really are different. Some people choose to change the world with hard work and a positive attitudes. Some choose to sit in the middle of the street like idiots, waiting to be arrested to show how cool and hip to the cause they are. How does this return the power to the people? How is refusing to work and sleeping in public helping in any way? I understand solidarity but why to this? Why do nothing to get change? Get a job and work your ass off to the top. Then change the world. You have to put time in to get change. Occupying busy places and making funny signs won't get you anything but more in debt. Fight the crysis by doing your part in society. If sleeping on the streets is what you want, it is what you'll have. But put the same effort into working and then you can have everything you want while help out with actual funding.. Give up in the streets and use the internet like real people.. haha Joking but please can someone take over and get real goals going. The rich won't come into work if angry bums are waiting outside for them. You people are giving them a nice vacation if anything. If you really want change why not go to the places rich people frequent? Not parks beside the homeless shelters. Lets all go home and regroup. When someone gets a real plan then lets all go for it. But until then please stop making the deserving people look bad..
